Our Approach to Therapy
Pediatric speech therapy is meant to be fun, engaging, and motivating for children while focusing on goals that fit their unique needs. At Tiny Tides Speech Therapy, we value parent concerns and believe in educating caregivers so therapy strategies could easily be carried over at home and in everyday settings. Therapy frequency and duration are thoughtfully planned based on what works best for your child and family.
Speech sound Disorders
Let’s talk about speech. An articulation delay affects how a child produces certain speech sounds. Your child may know exactly what they want to say, but others might have difficulty understanding them. They may mix up sounds, skip certain sounds, or say sounds in an unusual way.
At Tiny Tides Speech Therapy, we provide speech sound therapy tailored to your child’s unique needs to help them communicate more clearly and confidently. We also give strategies and activities for home practice so children can build their articulation skills and gain confidence in everyday communication.
Early Intervention
Let’s talk about early intervention. The first few years of life are a critical time for language development. At Tiny Tides Speech Therapy, we use a variety of fun and highly engaging activities for toddlers, incorporating pretend play, joint attention, expressive and receptive language, and social communication skills. Your child will love the variety of toys we use, which we rotate weekly to keep things exciting!
Delayed expressive & Receptive Language
Let’s talk about delayed expressive and receptive language. Expressive language is how a child uses sounds, words, and gestures to communicate while receptive language is what a child understands. Some children may have challenges with forming sentences, using age-appropriate vocabulary, following directions, or understanding basic concepts. At Tiny Tides Speech Therapy, we create individualized plans to help your child grow in both understanding and confidently using language to communicate. We use a play-based approach and provide home practice suggestions so families can carry over therapy skills into everyday life.
Parent & Caregiver Coaching
Let’s talk about parent & caregiver coaching. At Tiny Tides Speech Therapy, we provide parent & caregiver coaching every session. During the last few minutes, we provide strategies that can be used at home to help build language skills, along with activity handouts for reference. Parents are welcomed to join the session or they can relax in our cozy waiting area just outside the office!
We Are Also Accepting New Clients for TeleTherapy!
At Tiny Tides Speech Therapy, we also offer teletherapy sessions so your child can receive speech therapy from the comfort of home. Our virtual sessions are interactive and engaging, using games, videos, and activities to keep your child motivated while targeting their speech and language goals. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate, helping carry over strategies into daily routines and making therapy a fun, shared experience.
